How to Become a Personal Trainer

How to Become a Personal Trainer in 3 Easy Steps

Becoming a personal trainer is a great way to share your workout tips with the world. Do you know how many people make the resolution to get in shape every year, and the year after that, and the year after that ... a lot! Most of the time, it's because they haven't found the workout, or trainer, or food plan that fits their lifestyle. You can be the savior that they need! Here's the three steps you need to take to become a personal trainer.

1. Be a Fitness Enthusiast

Obviously, you have to be a fitness enthusiast. If you own more workout clothes than "real" clothes, that's a good sign. If you're always in the gym, counting your macros, and begging friends to workout with you, you've probably got the heart and passion that it takes to become a personal trainer.

2. Get Certified

It's not totally necessary, but it can be really helpful if you have a certification of some kind. A lot of people will treat this like a college degree and they'll take you more seriously if they know you have one. Take a class or get certified in a certain work out style such as CrossFit, yoga, pilates, or whatever you want to teach.

3. Build Your Brand

Before you can start signing up clients, you need to build your brand. Get a website, fill out your social media profiles, and make sure they all express who you are as a fitness enthusiast. Your personality should shine through the same in all these places as you do in real life.
